About

The Obsidian Philosophy

Most luxury travel is brokered from behind a desk, sold through glossy brochures, and handed off to third-party operators who run the same predictable circuits year after year. Obsidian was born from an entirely different conviction: that the true scale of British Columbia—its unmapped valleys, private coastal inlets, and silent glacial plateaus—cannot be experienced from a tourist corridor, and that profound wilderness immersion should never require sacrificing absolute comfort. We don't manage volume; we curate access. Every flight corridor, remote basecamp, and private guiding territory we use has been scouted firsthand, built on direct relationships with the province’s most capable bush pilots, master wranglers, and private landowners. People come to us not for a vacation package, but for the certainty that their journey is being engineered by humans who know the terrain intimately, obsess over every operational detail, and refuse to build anything off-the-shelf.

The Obsidian Team

Meet Ray

Operations & Fieldcraft

Ray is happiest where cell signal dies and the topographical lines tighten. Driven by an obsession with British Columbia’s most remote terrain, he spends his time in the field scouting unmapped routes, vetting veteran pilots, and stress-testing the operational backbone of every trip. With Ray, there are no theoretical logistics—if a spike camp is placed on an alpine ridge or a drift boat drops into an untouched estuary, it’s because he’s already stood there and dialed in every variable. He brings a quiet, calculated mastery to the wild, ensuring that even the most ambitious, classified expeditions unfold with absolute precision.

Meet Alex

Expedition Design & Client Experience

Alex knows that a flawless expedition begins with the explorer, not the map. Driven by an innate instinct for uncovering exactly what a client seeks, he translates abstract, personal visions into airtight, beautifully paced itineraries. With Alex, true luxury is the seamless execution of human insight—whether that means calibrating the psychological rhythm of a demanding trek, timing a mid-mountain extraction to the minute, or perfecting the restorative comfort of an open-fire camp. He bridges the gap between raw, unforgiving environments and effortless hospitality, ensuring you aren't just talking to a booking agent, but collaborating directly with the architect of your journey.
